Maydi Frankincense

Authentic Somali Origin. Distinctive Quality. Trusted Supply.

Maydi frankincense is a distinctive, single-origin variety of Boswellia frereana, traditionally harvested in the Sanaag highlands of northern Somalia. Valued for its characteristic natural resin and its significance in the frankincense trade, Maydi represents a remarkable part of Somalia’s botanical heritage.

The resin is collected seasonally by experienced harvesters working through established family networks whose knowledge and practices have been passed down through generations. These longstanding relationships at the source help support dependable procurement, traceable origin, and consistent supply for wholesalers and commercial buyers.

Origin-Based Sourcing and Consistent Grading

At Al Fakher Import & Export, we place particular emphasis on sourcing Maydi frankincense from its original growing regions in northern Somalia. Maintaining close coordination with our supply network allows us to focus on product selection, grading, and consistency throughout the sourcing process.

Each batch is assessed against a physical reference sample to help maintain agreed specifications from one shipment to the next. This approach supports greater consistency in commercial transactions and gives buyers a clear basis for evaluating the product they intend to purchase.

Grade 1 — Al-Mashat

Grade 1, known as Al-Mashat, is intended for buyers seeking larger, cleaner, and more uniform frankincense tears. Careful grading helps distinguish this selection according to its physical characteristics and the specifications agreed upon with the buyer.

Reliable Supply for Wholesale Buyers

We understand that consistency, dependable sourcing, and clearly defined specifications are essential to successful wholesale trade. Our approach combines origin-focused procurement with careful grading and batch assessment to serve traders, distributors, and commercial buyers.

Al Fakher Import & Export is committed to supplying authentic Maydi frankincense with close attention to origin, grade, quality, and consistency, helping buyers source this distinctive Somali resin with greater confidence.
